Penner’s TV Opinion Takes Direct Hit
Is Mike Penner a sports journalist or an ad copy writer for DirecTV? Please stop that tired drumbeat of “Please inform the NFL: Los Angeles can wait.”
You may sell that to a generation of Angelenos who haven’t seen a live NFL game, but those who have know nothing in sports compares to the experience. Maybe watching games on satellite TV satisfies a DirecTV shill like Mike Penner, but I’d much rather have even the worst NFL team here to watch live than 1,000 Mike Penner columns to read.
To the rest of the staff at The Times, the three dozen or so columns every NFL season telling us “We don’t need the NFL in L.A.” are enough. NFL fans don’t want to hear it anymore.
