David Carr concluded his final home game at Bulldog Stadium with nothing left to accomplish.

Carr threw for six touchdowns and 432 yards as No. 21 Fresno State finished its regular season with a 70-21 victory Saturday over Utah State.

Carr gave Heisman Trophy voters something to consider by becoming just the sixth college quarterback to pass for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in a season.

He went 21 for 27 to join Jim McMahon, Ty Detmer, David Klingler, Andre Ware and Tim Rattay in that elite club.

Carr has 4,308 yards passing and 42 touchdown passes this season.

Carr received an ovation when he left the game during Fresno State’s second possession of the second half.

Fresno State (11-2) won its fifth consecutive game and is headed for the Silicon Valley Football Classic, where it’s likely to face Michigan State.

“I didn’t know how far we’d go this season, but it’s been great,” Carr said. “I don’t usually talk about goals, but 40 touchdown passes was a goal I had. It’s a product of this entire team.”

Bernard Berrian scored three touchdowns on four receptions for 158 yards as the Bulldogs overwhelmed the Aggies.

Fresno State had 56 points and 438 yards in the first half. The Bulldogs finished with 713 yards.

Utah State (4-7) hadn’t allowed 70 points since a 72-3 loss to Oklahoma in 1974.

The Bulldogs scored touchdowns in eight of their first 10 possessions.
