Losing Ends for Bucks

Ray Allen had 30 points and Sam Cassell added 23 Thursday night to help the Milwaukee Bucks stop a five-game losing streak with a 95-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Milwaukee.

The Bucks played without Coach George Karl, who missed the game because of the death of his father. Assistant coach Terry Stotts led the Bucks.

Washington 85, Houston 82--Michael Jordan returned from a one-game absence because of a knee injury to score 10 of his 18 points in the fourth period at Houston to help the Wizards hand the Rockets their eighth consecutive loss.

Charlotte 95, Portland 89--Lee Nailon, filling in for injured forward Jamal Mashburn, scored a season-high 26 points as the Hornets ended a three-game losing streak with a victory at Portland, Ore.

Minnesota 105, Memphis 80--Terrell Brandon finished with 22 points as the Timberwolves built a 21-point lead by halftime at Memphis in ending a four-game road losing streak.

Philadelphia 76er star Allen Iverson is doubtful for tonight’s game at San Antonio because of a sprained left thumb.... Memphis put center Lorenzen Wright on the injured list because of a broken bone in his left leg.
