Selig, Baseball Have So Much to Learn

Share

And now for Bud Selig’s next big endeavor: replacing the World Series with a World Championship Series, or WCS. Bud and his cronies could use confidential numbers--maybe the ones he couldn’t share with Congress--to create computer rankings that select the WCS participants.

I can see it now: The Brewers end up No. 1 while the Yankees mysteriously leapfrog teams into a No. 2 ranking and WCS playoff. And, meanwhile, no owners will be permitted to comment on the process for fear of $1-million fines.

Ah, baseball, America’s pastime. Or just America’s past?
