Terry Bowden in the Mix
Georgia Tech has contacted former Auburn coach and current ABC studio analyst Terry Bowden regarding its coaching opening, according to a report.
ESPN reported that Bowden was expected to meet Saturday with Georgia Tech Athletic Director Dave Braine.
Bowden’s father, Bobby, is the coach at Florida State and brother Tommy is the coach at Clemson. If Bowden, 45, is named the Yellow Jacket coach, there would be three Bowdens coaching in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Bowden was 47-17-1 in five-plus seasons at Auburn. He also has coached at Salem College and Samford. His career record is 112-52-2.
Sources told ESPN that it was not clear if Bowden had a viable interest in the Georgia Tech opening.
