Long Beach State (3-7) at UC Irvine (5-4), 7 p.m. PST, KRLA (870), KUCI-FM (88.9)--The Anteaters try to extend a school-record 15-game home winning streak in a Big West Conference opener. Long Beach State lost to Loyola Marymount, 76-68, Tuesday. Guard Ron Johnson is averaging 12.4 points, one of four 49er players in double figures.

Cal State Northridge (1-7, 0-1) at Idaho (2-7, 0-1), 7 --Northridge lost Thursday in a Big West opener at Utah State, 73-56. Markus Carr and Ian Boylan each had 16 points, but the Matadors were outrebounded, 48-31. Idaho has a new coach, Leonard Perry, a point guard for the Vandals in the early 1990s who is trying to turn around a team that went 6-21 last season.
