Crespi Earns a Tie for Mission Title by Beating Alemany, 68-54

Andrew Moore and Kingsley Anyanwu each scored 15 points to help Crespi High clinch a share of the Mission League boys’ basketball title with a 68-54 victory over Alemany on Thursday night at Crespi.

Moore and Anyanwu combined for 23 rebounds for Crespi (19-6, 9-3 in league play), which finished first in the league for the first time since 1992.

The Celts, which put themselves in position to tie for the title by beating Loyola on Wednesday night, finished in a tie with Notre Dame (21-5, 9-3).

Evan Cline had 23 points and six assists for Alemany (5-20, 0-12).

The Celts, who outscored Alemany, 22-10, in the third quarter, held a 44-18 rebounding advantage.

Kilpatrick 84, Paraclete 47--Keilon Fortune scored 29 points for the Mustangs in an Alpha League victory at Paraclete.

Fortune had nine rebounds for the Mustangs (22-1, 8-0), who have clinched the league title.

Ventura 62, Hueneme 60--Tyler Ebell scored 20 points and hit a three-point shot with a minute remaining to give the Cougars the lead for good in a nonleague game at Hueneme.

Ventura (15-10), which rallied from seven points down in the fourth quarter, converted six three-point shots in the fourth quarter and 12 of 17 overall.

Frankie Orocio scored 18 points for the Vikings (4-14).

Crescenta Valley 82, Arcadia 77--James Jenkins had 33 points and 20 rebounds in a Pacific League victory at Crescenta Valley.

Chris Luansing scored 20 points in his fourth varsity game, making four of seven three-pointers for the Falcons (20-6, 8-2).

Oxnard 60, Rio Mesa 50--Erik Webb scored 17 points and Johnathon Monette had 14 as Oxnard won its 24th consecutive Pacific View League game at Rio Mesa.

Nicholas Curtis had 10 points and 12 rebounds for Oxnard (23-3, 8-0), ranked No. 1 in the region by The Times.

Newbury Park Adventist Academy 64, San Fernando Adventist Academy 24--Charles Jenson had 26 points, 20 rebounds and six assists as host Newbury Park Adventist Academy (13-2, 10-0) clinched its second consecutive Omega League title.

La Canada 56, Blair 55--Greg Gaudino had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans (20-6, 7-3) in a Rio Hondo League victory at Blair.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Hart 56, Burbank 40--Freshman Brandi Kimble scored 12 of her 18 points in the third quarter and Amanda Patton added 13 points for the Indians (17-7, 6-4) in a Foothill League victory at Burbank.

Christine Kepenekian scored 27 points for the Bulldogs.

Burroughs 66, Canyon 47--Tulyah Gaines had 17 points and four steals, and Danica Cunningham added 15 points, eight rebounds and six steals for the Indians (14-12, 6-4) in a Foothill League victory at Burroughs.

Santa Paula 57, Santa Clara 35--Sarah Ruiz had 32 points, including five three-pointers, and the Cardinals (18-5, 8-0) clinched the Frontier League title at Santa Clara.

Paraclete 74, Scott Academy 28--Jackie Kolesar scored 14 points in the first quarter of an Alpha League victory at Paraclete.

Kolesar finished with 27 points and eight rebounds for Paraclete (13-12, 7-1), which had already clinched the league title.

Bell-Jeff 41, St. Monica 40--Jennae Peoples scored nine points, including a key basket with just over a minute left, in a Camino Real League victory at Bell-Jeff.

Anna Coronado had eight points for the Guards (14-11, 8-4).

Montclair Prep 55, Brentwood 34--Eshaya Murphy had 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Jasmine Wesley had 14 points, 21 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Mounties (22-0, 10-0) in a Delphic League finale at Montclair Prep.
