Cypress Women’s Basketball Team Subdues Saddleback

Angela Garrett had 25 points and 13 rebounds Friday, leading Cypress to a 64-51 victory over host Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball game.

Garrett was 11 of 17 from the field, three for five from three-point range and blocked three shots. Randi Washington added 17 points and eight rebounds for Cypress (9-11, 3-1).

Hayley Hall scored 21 points for Saddleback (6-12, 2-2).

In other conference games:

Riverside 74, Fullerton 50--Three players scored in double figures for the first-place Tigers (17-7, 4-0). Reena Gonzales scored 14 points and Tammy Yonamine had 10 for Fullerton (7-13, 0-4).

In Orange Empire Conference men’s basketball:

Riverside 86, Fullerton 82--Will Morris scored 36 points and Raleigh Erickson made five three-pointers in the second half to bring visiting Riverside (12-10, 3-1) from behind.

J.J. Sola had 26 points and Romel Beck had 22 for the Hornets (13-7, 1-3), who took a 15-2 lead but led by only one at halftime.

Saddleback 80, Cypress 56--Mike Donegan had 16 points for host Saddleback (19-2, 4-0), which broke open a close game by outscoring Cypress, 48-27, in the second half.
