Georgia Keeps Streaking in SEC Play

Layne scored 26 points as Georgia (12-7, 5-1) won five in a row in the SEC for the first time since 1990 with an 82-73 victory over Vanderbilt (13-5, 3-3) at Nashville, Tenn. . . . Georgia Tech (11-7, 3-4) made a school-record 17 three-point shots in 31 attempts in a 111-108 victory over Clemson (10-9, 1-5) in an ACC game at Clemson, S.C. . . . Louisville (7-12, 3-3) became the first Conference USA team to beat Cincinnati (12-6, 3-3) on its home floor in 35 games with a 63-54 victory. The Cardinals had lost to the Bearcats by 20 points at Louisville 11 days ago. . . . Center Kimani Ffriend had 20 points and had 16 rebounds to lead Nebraska (9-9, 2-3) to an 85-79 victory over Missouri (12-6, 3-2) in a Big 12 game at Lincoln, Neb. Ffriend, a 42% free throw shooter, made 10 of 13 and also had 10 of Nebraska’s 24 offensive rebounds. Kareem Rush, the Big 12’s leading scorer at 21.6 points a game, had 21 for Missouri, a former Top 25 team which has lost three in a row.
