Valparaiso Coach Homer Drew missed Saturday’s game with Oakland (Mich.) after being was admitted to the hospital Friday night because of discomfort in his chest.

Drew has already been released from the hospital and expects to coach in Monday’s game against Western Illinois. He underwent initial tests that revealed that further tests were not warranted. An angiogram indicated that there was no blockage and doctors determined only medication was needed to relieve further problems.

Drew’s son, Scott, coached the Crusaders’ 89-57 victory, which, ironically, was credited to his dad, his 200th at Valparaiso.
