Jackson Doubles Storm Power
Lauren Jackson had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Seattle Storm past the Portland Fire, 61-56, Wednesday night before a crowd of 7,928 at Portland, Ore.
It was the second consecutive double-double for Jackson. She also accomplished the feat Tuesday in a four-overtime loss to Washington. Jackie Stiles had 18 points for the Fire (8-6), which shot only 32% from the field. Jamie Redd added 18 points for Seattle (8-8).
Phoenix 60, Miami 47--Kristen Veal scored 16 points for the Mercury (5-9) before a home crowd of 6,680 to snap a four-game losing streak. Elena Baranova led the Sol (6-9) with 12 points.
