Sewage Backup Floods Portion of City Hall
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An apparent sewage backup flooded part of Malibu City Hall on Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles County Fire Department officials reported.
About two inches of water covered the ground floor and part of the basement, but damage to carpets and tile was minimal, a Fire Department spokesman said.
About 50 firefighters using water vacuums, push brooms and squeegees cleaned up the mess in about three hours. The building apparently was unoccupied when the flooding was reported shortly after noon.
