DODGERS’

TERRY ADAMS

(4-2, 4.97 ERA)

vs.

ATHLETICS’

MARK MULDER

(9-6, 3.77 ERA)

Update--Adams and the left-handed Mulder are coming off arguably the best starts of their respective careers. In his seventh career start, Adams went seven innings against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday at Dodger Stadium, giving up one run and three hits. Mulder took a perfect game into the eighth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. He ended up with a one-hitter and struck out a career-high nine in a 3-0 victory. The A’s are led offensively by first baseman Jason Giambi, the 2000 American League most valuable player, who is batting .322 with 19 homers and 60 runs batted in. Johnny Damon, acquired in a trade with Kansas City before the season, has been a disappointment at .239.
