Stipend Debate

I can nderstand Supervisor Bennett’s position [barring stipends for supervisors who serve on other county committees]. With a degree in economics and a former career teaching that subject to high schoolers, Mr. Bennett certainly has the background and training to be a fiscal watchdog.

I agree with him that the position of supervisor is well-compensated and the stipends should go. I also applaud his courage and integrity. I don’t think he is grandstanding. He is looking out for the public interest and I, for one, am grateful. There seems to be so little of it in the political arena these days.
