Glendale Player Reaches Quarterfinals
Sixth-seeded Robert Yim of Glendale advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Tennis Assn. Super National Boys’ 18 Clay Court Championships in Louisville, Ky.
He defeated Matt Cloer of Nashville, Tenn., 6-2, 6-2, in the round of 16 at Louisville Tennis Club.
* Second-seeded Lindsey Nelson of Orange and fifth-seeded Judith De Vera of Carson advanced to the quarterfinals of the Super National Girls’ 16 Clay Court Championship with victories in Virginia Beach, Va.
* Gary Sacks of Calabasas lost to second-seeded Andrew Orban of Fayetteville, N.C., 6-3, 6-1, in the round of 16 of the Super National Boys’ 14 Clay Court Championships at Jimmy Evert Tennis Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
