Update--Detroit’s Scott Semptimphelter was the Avenger quarterback last season before losing the job to Todd Marinovich (who lost the job to Erik Wilhelm). Semptimphelter, 0-5 as a starter in Los Angeles, passed for 1,551 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. This season, he has passed for 1,946 yards and 38 touchdowns. The Avengers are riding a franchise-high three-game winning streak after Saturday’s 48-45 victory over Houston. Defensive back Mark Ricks is questionable because of a tender hamstring. An unexpected hip injury to kicker Brian Reaves, who will sit out at least two games, had the Avengers scrambling Friday to sign former NFL kicker Kris Heppner.
