Siraki Wins Two-Mile Title Again

Anita Siraki of Hoover High won the girls’ two-mile race at the National Scholastic Outdoor track and field championships for the second consecutive year, clocking a career best of 10:12.48 on Friday.
Chris Morgan of Taft, state champion in the 100 high hurdles, was defeated for the first time this year, clocking 14.93 in his heat and failing to advance to the final.
Allyson Felix of L.A. Baptist, sate champion in the 100 meters, finished fourth in the event at 11.77
Basketball
Cal Lutheran women’s Coach Tim LaKose is among four finalists for the vacancy at Division II power Cal State Bakersfield.
Bakersfield is expected to make a decision by the end of the week.
