5 on Bus Injured in Tow Truck Collision
Five people suffered minor injuries when a bus they were on collided with a tow truck Friday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. at C Street and Wooley Road when tow truck driver Alvin P.Z. Bungat, 34, allegedly ran a red light and struck the bus and a car, police said.
Alfonso Garcia Castillo, 61, who was driving the South Coast Area Transit bus, and passengers Jesus Barrera, 53; Olga Del Muro Mijares, 34; Patricia Rodriguez, 32; and Maria Gutierrez, 40, were treated for minor injuries at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
No citations were issued but the crash remained under investigation, said Oxnard police Officer Ramiro Albarran.
