AOL Time Warner Inc., which runs the biggest Internet service, agreed to promote Ticketmaster’s service, which sells concert, theater and other tickets, to AOL’s more than 28 million online subscribers.

Terms weren’t disclosed, AOL Time Warner spokesman David Theis said. As part of the agreement, AOL’s Moviefone unit will promote its Internet movie-ticketing services on Ticketmaster’s CitySearch Web sites and online travel and event guides, which are available in 102 cities worldwide, Theis said.

The agreement benefits AOL’s America Online unit, which gets about a third of its revenue from advertising and electronic-commerce agreements.

Ticketmaster’s Match.com, a personal-ads Web site, will advertise on America Online, AOL’s Netscape.com service and other AOL sites as part of the accord. Ticketmaster sold more than 83 million tickets worth about $3.3 billion last year.

Separately, AOL Time Warner said it made a minority investment in MovieTickets.com Inc. Other investors include AMC Entertainment and Hollywood Media Corp.
