Pepperdine 15, Gonzaga 4--Woody Cliffords, Danny Garcia, Jared Pitney and Duke Sardinha each had three hits for the Waves in a West Coast Conference game at Pepperdine.

The Waves (19-10, 8-2), who lead the WCC, collected a season-high 23 hits.

Dan Haren (5-2) allowed four unearned runs on six hits and struck out eight for the Waves, ranked No. 16 in the nation.

Sardinha had three doubles and Garcia and Pitney each had three runs batted in.

BOYS’ TRACK

Cleveland 87, El Camino Real 40--Jason Lovell won the 100 meters in 10.8 seconds and the 220 yards in 21.8, and anchored both victorious relay teams for the Cavaliers (4-0, 2-0) in a West Valley League victory at El Camino Real.

Chris Well-Anders won the 880 in 2:02.1 and the mile in 4:36.0 for El Camino Real.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

Buena 6, Santa Barbara 0--Alicia Morales pitched a one-hitter with four strikeouts in a Channel League victory for the Bulldogs at Santa Barbara.

Randy Prado and Stefanie Schneider each had three hits for Buena (8-5, 3-1).

Oaks Christian 4-3, Lincoln 0-0--Ashlee Freeman (13-2) pitched two five-inning one-hitters for the Lions (13-2-1) and struck out 21 of 35 batters in a nonleague doubleheader at North Ranch Park.

Shannon Van Vorst had two hits, including a two-run single in a three-run first inning, in the first game.

Valencia 13, Lancaster 1--Ashley Herrera had three hits and drove in five runs in a High Desert tournament victory at the Lancaster Sports Complex.

Lauren Watson of Valencia (10-1) hit a two-run home run, finishing with three hits and three RBIs.

Christina Ross (3-0) pitched a five-inning one-hitter with six strikeouts.

The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Rio Mesa 1, Camarillo 0--Chanel Tripp pitched a three-hitter for the Spartans (7-5, 4-0) in a Pacific View League victory at Camarillo.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Royal def. Simi Valley 15-2, 15-8, 15-5--David Russell had 13 kills in 18 attempts and Kamil Kowalski added 16 kills for the Highlanders (14-1, 6-0) in a Marmonte League victory at Royal.
