Shooting Victim Taken Off Life Support, Dies
A man shot last week outside a Costa Mesa fast-food restaurant died after being taken off life support, officials said Wednesday.
Miroslav Maric, 49, of Newport Beach died Tuesday at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, a hospital spokeswoman said. Police and Orange County coroner’s officials, however, said he was declared dead Monday. Coroner’s officials confirmed Wednesday that an autopsy had been done.
Maric was shot several times Friday at a parking lot of a Jack-in-the-Box. Ramadan Dokovic, 42, of Downey was arrested and booked into Costa Mesa Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
Dokovic is accused of shooting Maric at least twice. Police are still investigating the incident, officials said Wednesday, and are considering charging Dokovic with murder.
