Champion for Children

Esther L. Snyder, president of In-N-Out Burger, was honored at a benefit sponsored by the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center last weekend. Snyder, recovering from surgery, was unable to attend the gala, but 400 others did. The event May 18 at the Hyatt Newporter in Newport Beach, chaired by Kelly Crean and Dorcas Preston, netted about $150,000 for the center’s programs for parental education.

Snyder heads a foundation dedicated to making grants to nonprofit organizations committed to the prevention of child abuse, noted center director of development Mickey Shaw. “She is not only generous to us, she is generous to so many other worthwhile organizations that seek to eradicate this problem.”
