Woman Dies in Possible Gang-Related Shooting
A woman died after she was shot while riding in a car in the Valley Glen area, police said Monday.
Sandra Alzaga, 23, of Panorama City, was shot in the upper body while riding in a westbound car with four other people in the 13400 block of Vanowen Street after midnight Sunday, said police service representative Stacy Ball of the LAPD’s Van Nuys Division.
Alzaga died at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Ball said.
Authorities believe the shooting was gang-related. Anyone with information is asked to call the Van Nuys station at (818) 756-8377 during business hours or 756-8346 after hours.
