West Covina South Hills 40, Covina Northview 33--In a game that decided the Valle Vista League title, Stephano Smith scored three touchdowns to lead South Hills (8-1, 6-0) at Covina District Field.
With his team trailing at halftime, 25-12, Northview quarterback Danny Bonilla scrambled for two touchdowns. The first came on a one-yard run in third quarter to get the Vikings (7-2, 5-1) to within 32-27.
But South Hills’ Jaron Fairman caught a pass from Ryan Repp and took it 75 yards for his second touchdown reception and the Huskies’ final score.
