Tustin Coach Says Parents Consider Suing

Myron Miller, football coach at Tustin High, said Monday that parents of some of his players were considering legal action in an attempt to get Tustin into the Southern Section Division VI playoffs.

Tustin finished the season 7-3, 3-1 in the Golden West League, but forfeited the league victories--all of them lopsided--for using a player who did not live in the Tustin attendance area.

The league determines the three playoff teams and, at the discretion of its principals, could have included Tustin. It did not.

“If I would have kept my first-stringers in the game like everyone says I do, [the player] never would have played,” Miller said. “He was not a factor in any game we played in....We’re a pretty solid football team and probably won’t get a chance to play.”
