From Times Wire Reports

The trial site for Yosemite murder suspect Cary Stayner on charges of killing three tourists has been narrowed to three courthouses.

Lawyers have been notified that the trial could be held in Los Angeles, Santa Clara or Sacramento counties, defense lawyer Marcia Morrissey said.

Judge Thomas Hastings ruled that the trial cannot be held in Mariposa County because of extensive news coverage. A hearing on the venue change will be held Dec. 17.

Stayner, 40, is accused of killing Carole Sund, 42; her daughter, Juli Sund, 15; and their friend Silvina Pelosso, 16, in February 1999, and could face death if convicted.
