Officer Shot, Critically Wounded
WILMINGTON —
A Los Angeles police officer on routine patrol in the harbor area was shot several times and critically wounded Wednesday night, authorities said.
The officer, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, said Officer Jason Lee, a police spokesman.
The officer was in a squad car with another officer at F Street and Avalon Boulevard at about 8:30 p.m. when the gunman fired, Lee said.
The other officer was uninjured, and police are searching for the gunman, Lee said.
