* * Texas A&M; (5-1) at Kansas State (2-3), Fox Sports Net, 9:30 a.m.: Reeling Kansas State is 0-3 in the Big 12--and quarterback Ell Roberson has a sore ankle. LINE: Kansas State by 7.
* * * USC (2-4) at Notre Dame (2-3), Channel 4, 11:30 a.m.: Even if the rivalry’s grandeur--and importance--has faded, the tradition never fails to make this game enticing. LINE: Pick.
* Hawaii (3-2) at Tulsa (1-4), Fox Sports Net 2, Noon: The game to see is Friday, when high-scoring Hawaii plays host to Fresno State as the Bulldogs make the always tricky trip to Honolulu. LINE: Hawaii by 7.
* * * No. 11 Tennessee (3-1) at Alabama (3-3), Channel 2, 12:30 p.m.: Alabama fans don’t like seeing new Coach Dennis Franchione’s team lose close games and commit all those penalties. LINE: Tennessee by 2.
* * * Stanford (3-1) at No. 5 Oregon (6-0), Channel 7, 12:30 p.m.: Kids from The Farm might see a real one on this trip. Not to mention a real good team. LINE: Oregon by 71/2.
* * Air Force (4-1) at No. 18 Brigham Young (6-0), ESPN2, 2:45 p.m.: Gary Crowton is making a name for himself in first year as BYU coach. With Chicago Bears, they just called him names. LINE: Brigham Young by 121/2.
* * Arizona (3-3) at No. 15 Washington (4-1), Channel 9, 3:30 p.m.: Huskies will feel better if they run over Arizona, but UCLA proved this Washington team is not among nation’s elite. LINE: Washington by 151/2.
* * Texas Tech (3-2) at No. 3 Nebraska (7-0), Fox Sports Net, Cable Radio Network, 4 p.m.: Last week’s upset of Kansas State aside, Texas Tech fans should be thinking about basketball season. LINE: Nebraska by 241/2.
* * * No. 22 Florida State (3-2) at Virginia (3-3), ESPN, 4:45 p.m.: FSU now stands for Formerly So Unbeatable. The Atlantic Coast Conference no longer quivers. LINE: Florida State by 12.
