Coceres Hangs on in Rain
Jose Coceres of Argentina closed with a four-under-par 68 Sunday to win the National Car Rental Classic at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
He finished at 263 for a one-stroke victory over Davis Love III and earned $612,000.
Heavy rain suspended play for 49 minutes.
Coceres hit his approach on No. 18 within 30 feet and lagged his first putt six feet below the hole.
Love holed a 12-foot birdie putt, but Coceres made his par and punched the damp air with his fist.

Larry Nelson capped a record-tying 63 with a tap-in birdie on the final hole and defeated Bob Gilder and Gary McCord by two strokes in the SBC Championship at San Antonio.
Nelson’s nine-under round gave him a 17-under total and his fifth Senior PGA Tour victory this year and 11th in the last two seasons. He earned $210,000.

Paul Lawrie shot a nine-under 63 to share the third-round lead with Paul McGinley in the Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews, Scotland.
There was fog and heavy rain at the tournament for the fourth consecutive day on all three courses.
Lawrie and McGinley are at 14 under for 54 holes. Ernie Els is at 13 under.
