Whales Latest Victims of an Inept Pentagon
The recent collisions between great whales and U.S. warships of the Navy’s 3rd Fleet presents two appalling scenarios.
Either these sickeningly expensive warships were unable to detect 60-foot objects nearby, or they were fully aware of the whales’ proximity and chose to do nothing.
It seems to me that the more money that is poured into the Pentagon, the more inept and sloppy the armed forces become. How about firing a few thousand generals and admirals and trying for some leaner and meaner ones?
Alas, our Congress and administration are far too dedicated to pork, influence peddling and reelections to be bothered with practical solutions to any of our nation’s many problems.
What is to become of us?
