Five Questions
Times NFL writer Sam Farmer poses--and answers--the burning questions for this week’s games:
Q: Which young quarterback is better, Daunte Culpepper or Donovan McNabb?
A: We’ll find out Nov. 11 when the Vikings visit the Eagles.
Q: Any teams catching a big-time break early in the season?
A: The Chargers. None of their first five opponents--Washington, Dallas, Cincinnati, Cleveland and New England--finished with a winning record last season.
Q: What did Marty Mornhinweg do to deserve the Detroit coaching job?
A: Matt Millen, the new Lion general manager, said he prayed for the right answer and Mornhinweg’s name kept popping up. Mornhinweg’s response? God was right.
Q: What’s the toughest part of coaching the Redskins for Marty Schottenheimer?
A: No more ripping Dan Snyder or Jeff George like he did on TV.
Q: How did Raider Coach Jon Gruden crack People Magazine’s list of 50 most beautiful people?
A: That’s a no-brainer says brother, Jay. “They’ve never seen him naked.”
