Bruins Defeat Flyers

Bill Guerin scored the go-ahead goal and Brian Rolston added a short-handed goal, leading the Boston Bruins to a 4-2 victory over the Flyers Tuesday night at Philadelphia.

Boston, which has won seven in a row on the road, took a four-point lead over the Flyers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Adam Oates and Keith Primeau scored for Philadelphia, which got an emotional lift with the return of Roenick, who missed seven games with a partial tear of a ligament in his right knee.

Ottawa 4, Carolina 3--Sami Salo had a goal and an assist at Ottawa to help the Senators win for the third time in their last four games.

Edmonton 2, Minnesota 1--Mike Grier scored two minutes into overtime at Edmonton to help the Oilers extend their unbeaten streak to nine games.

Calgary 4, Atlanta 2--Dean McAmmond scored twice and Jarome Iginla added his league-leading 47th goal for the Flames at Calgary.

New Jersey’s Scott Gomez will be sidelined four to six weeks with a broken left hand suffered in Monday’s 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders.... Tampa Bay’s Andre Roy was suspended for 13 games for leaving the penalty box and physically abusing a linesman in Monday’s 6-4 loss to the New York Rangers.
