Actress Tawny Kitaen Finley was charged Wednesday with injuring her husband, former Anaheim Angels pitcher Chuck Finley, during an argument this week.

The couple were driving to their Newport Beach home from dinner Monday evening when Kitaen Finley allegedly began kicking her husband with high-heeled shoes, said Tori Richards, spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Kitaen Finley then grabbed her husband’s ear and pushed his foot while it was on the car’s gas pedal, Richards said.

Finley was able to wrestle free and get home safely, but the argument continued. A third party called 911. When police arrived they saw Finley was scraped and arrested Kitaen Finley, Richards said.

Kitaen Finley, who has appeared in numerous television programs, including “Hercules” and “America’s Funniest People,” spent two days in jail.

A judge on Wednesday ordered her released on her own recognizance. The judge also issued a restraining order requiring that she stay away from her husband, Richards said.

Kitaen Finley is scheduled to be back in court April 29, when she will face two misdemeanor charges of inflicting corporal injury and battery.

Finley now plays for the Cleveland Indians.
