Catchings Has 32 as Fever Wins, 70-63
Tamika Catchings matched her franchise record with 32 points and had 12 rebounds as the Indiana Fever defeated the Orlando Miracle, 70-63, on Wednesday night before 8,628 at Indianapolis.
Catchings, who leads the WNBA in scoring, was five of nine from three-point range to help Indiana move into a fourth-place tie with Orlando in the Eastern Conference standings.
Catchings scored 22 points in the first half, 13 in a 3 1/2-minute span.
It was the Fever’s fourth consecutive victory, a club best.
Wendy Palmer, Nykesha Sales and Katie Douglas each scored 15 points for the Miracle.
Phoenix 59, Cleveland 57--Adriana Moises made a layup over Ann Wauters with 3.1 seconds left as the Mercury stopped a four-game losing streak before 10,286 at Phoenix.
The Mercury had lost 16 of its last 18.
