Gardena Man Held in Fatal Shooting
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 26-year-old Gardena man in connection with a shooting Saturday night that left a man dead and a woman wounded, deputies said.
Michael Parson was arrested two hours after Jose Martinez, 19, was fatally shot and an unidentified 19-year-old woman was wounded in her lower torso. She was in stable condition at an area hospital, said Sheriff’s Deputy Alba Yates.
The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 152nd Street. Parson was arrested “a couple blocks away,” Yates said. Deputies said an assault rifle was found in Parson’s possession.
