Inglewood Gets Boost From Collins

Sparked by the return of center D’Angelo Collins, Inglewood High, ranked No. 20 by The Times, dealt No. 19 Redondo Union its first Bay League loss, 67-55, in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday night at Inglewood.

Collins, a 6-foot-10 senior, had missed the last 14 games with a knee injury. He played 23 minutes Tuesday and finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. He had a dunk at the final buzzer.

“My knee cap came off track ... and this was the first time I felt OK to test it out,” said Collins, who is considering entering the NBA draft this summer. “I want to get my timing back before the playoffs.”

Adam Zahn scored 15 points and Keith Ellison had 12 for Redondo Union (18-6, 12-1).
