Chick’s Tough Break Is the Team’s Fault

Share

Over the past few months, I’ve watched, listened and read people’s opinions on Chick Hearn. For the most part, everyone wants him back.

Of course, there are a few idiots who want Chick to hang it up. I can’t even explain the anger I feel toward those people. Chick is the best announcer the NBA has ever had. No one even comes close to him, even now when he makes mistakes.

Well, it’s time to see if the Lakers really do care about Chick. It’s their fault that Chick wanted to go out Sunday night to forget about another ugly loss.

Perhaps NBC was at fault too for showing only a little more than half of the game so they can interview the losers of some stupid race.

So what do the Lakers do now? This is as good a time as any to take every game seriously, just like Chick.

And what greater motivation is there than to dedicate the rest of the season and another championship to the voice of the Lakers? To do anything less is unacceptable. After all, it is the Lakers that broke Chick’s heart and eventually his hip on Sunday night.

Chick, please, next time go to the full-service gas pump. You’ve earned it.
