Deputies Shoot Pit Bulls After Attack on Man, 71
Sheriff’s deputies shot two pit bull terriers to death Monday after the dogs attacked a 71-year-old man as he was getting out of his car on Harvest Avenue in Cerritos.
The officers said they opened fire when the dogs charged at one of the deputies.
The victim, who was not identified, suffered bites on his left leg and both arms, officials said. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
Officers said it had not been decided whether charges would be filed against the owner of the dogs.
