Sewage Spill Closes Little Corona Beach
A 3,000-gallon sewage spill closed Little Corona Beach on Wednesday--the second time this year that a stretch of Orange County’s coastline has been tainted by raw human waste, according to the county Health Care Agency.
The sewage spilled from a new Irvine Ranch Water District pipeline about three miles inland in Newport Coast. Sand in the line caused the spill, which flowed down Buck Gully and into the ocean, according to the agency.
The ocean at Little Corona will remain off-limits until water testing shows that it’s safe.
