Long Beach State (6-14, 2-7) at Cal State Fullerton (4-14, 1-8), 5:30, KRLA (870), Fox Sports Net 2--Both teams are struggling as the second half of the Big West Conference schedule begins. Long Beach, with four players averaging more than 10 points a game, suffered its worst loss of the season Saturday, an 82-50 defeat at UC Santa Barbara. Fullerton lost to Pacific, 82-48. The 49ers defeated the Titans, 68-60, on Jan. 5 at the Pyramid.

UC Irvine (14-6, 7-2) at UC Riverside (6-11, 3-6), 7, KPRO (1570), KUCI-FM (88.9)--Irvine’s 50-47 loss at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Saturday dropped the Anteaters into a first-place tie with Cal State Northridge in the Big West. Irvine committed 19 turnovers in the defeat. Irvine defeated Riverside, 72-53, at the Bren Events Center on Jan. 5. Riverside is coming off an 84-69 loss to Northridge.

Cal State Northridge (8-10, 7-2) at Pacific (13-6, 5-4), 7, KCSN-FM (88.5)--The Matadors begin an important stretch of games tonight at one of the conference’s most difficult venues. Pacific leads the league in scoring (70.9), free-throw shooting (74.7%) and is third in field-goal percentage (46.1%). The Tigers also have made 156 three-point baskets.
