The State Department has canceled its warning against travel to India, which was issued June 26, saying border tensions between India and Pakistan have subsided. It noted, however, that “the risk of renewed increased tensions ... cannot be ruled out.” The department still warns against travel to Pakistan, especially in light of the recent conviction of suspects in the kidnap-murder of American reporter Daniel Pearl. It also lifted a warning on Madagascar that was issued in April, noting the “improving security and logistical situation.”
