A suspect in the killing of four people in their Mission Hills home appeared in court on capital murder charges Tuesday but delayed entering a plea. Victor Govin was given until Aug. 12 to hire a private attorney.

His family owns the Studio Place Inn, next to the Universal City Inn owned by Harish “Harry” Kumar in Studio City.

Kumar’s wife, mother and children were killed May 4 in their home, which was burned down. The LAPD said the motive was a dispute over land near the hotels.
