What: “SportsCentury: Mike Tyson”

Where: ESPN Classic, Friday, 5 and 8 p.m.

Mike Tyson’s aberrant behavior is curiously compelling to ordinary people, so maybe that explains why this one-hour edition of “SportsCentury” is so captivating. It doesn’t matter that Tyson isn’t interviewed. Enough other people are, talking about everything from his right hook to his police blotter.

Teddy Atlas talks about the time when Tyson was 16 and made improper sexual advances toward his wife’s 11-year-old sister. Atlas says he put a loaded gun to Tyson’s head and threatened to pull the trigger.

From journalist Jack Newfield: “He liked to hurt women during sex. His wires were crossed in his mind between violence and eroticism.”

From journalist Edwin Pope: “This may sound harsh, but he is as near to worthless as a human being can be.”
