Thursday Lo.cal at Yamashiro

Friday Red at Arena

Now that Spundae at Circus has taken over Saturday night, this club attempts to revolutionize Friday night. The early returns are promising. A recent set by Christopher Lawrence had fans lined up around the block. Of course, if you really want to get in, that’s not always a good thing. 9 p.m.-4 a.m. 21 and older. $10-$20. 6655 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, (323) 692-3533. www.nexxez.com

Saturday Spundae at Circus Disco

The biggest and baddest continue to bring in the top names every weekend. The downside to their success, particularly at Spundae, is that as the hype grows, some of the purity is being compromised, and what was once all about the music is threatened with becoming a scene and meat market. 9 p.m.-4 a.m. 21 and older. $20. 6655 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, (323) 462-5508. This Saturday: Sandra Collins, Slacker, Grant Plant and Tim Lawson. www.spundae.com or www.spundaehollywood.com

Monday Monday Night Social

at Las Palmas

Considered the staple of the scene after six years, this more laid-back club night gets top-name talent without the huge crowds. Memorial Day featured Q-Burns in a setting so intimate it felt as if he was in your living room. It makes for a nice chill-out vibe, but if you want the energy of the dance world, there are better spots. 9 p.m.-2 a.m. 21 and older. $10. 1714 N. Las Palmas Ave., Hollywood, (323) 464-0171.
