No More Monday Blahs

Wow, the greatest thing since the invention of frozen orange juice! Yes I’m talking about John Madden joining Al Michaels on “Monday Night Football.” ABC finally gets it right. I stopped watching “MNF” when Dennis Miller entered the booth. The only Miller I wanted came in a can. I’ll guarantee ABC that I and thousands of others will be watching Michaels and Madden, even if it’s a lousy game. This combination will be as good as any, including Jim Nantz and Ken Venturi.

I know I’m right when I read T.J. Simers knock Madden when he states, “Madden has a made a career of dumbing down football.” Simers is a guy who has equally made a career of dumbing down sports columns weekly in The Times.
