BIG WINNERS

* Beverly Hills quarterback Ollie Linter’s two touchdown passes in the Normans’ 34-14 victory over Inglewood allowed him to tied the school’s season record of 27. Linter is tied with Ziv Gottlieb, who set the mark in 1991 and later played for California.

* Claremont’s defense limited Terrell Thomas and Josh Sayles to a combined 48 yards in the Wolfpack’s 34-10 victory over Rancho Cucamonga.

UPSETS

* Chino Hills Ayala defeated then-No. 2 Chino, 21-14. The Bulldogs rallied from a 14-0 deficit behind the three-pronged rushing attack of Steven Toliver (70 yards), Corey Tello (69) and Robert Meza (58).

* L.A. Crenshaw defeated then-No. 12 L.A. Fremont, 28-21. Tight end Chris Porter had a 16-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to break a 21-21 tie.

FANTASTIC FINISHES

* Nate Hunter kicked a 26-yard field goal with 11 seconds left to lift Costa Mesa over Westminster, 11-10. The victory sets up a showdown this week between the Mustangs (6-2, 4-0) and Santa Ana (7-1, 4-0) for the Golden West League title.

* LaFerrell Payne scored on a 22-yard run with 26 seconds remaining to give Gardena a hard-fought 25-21 victory over Wilmington Banning. The Panthers (6-2, 3-0) play Carson (6-2, 3-0) this week for the Marine League title.
