Top Trainers Get Spotlight in 10th Race

Share

There’s a good chance either trainer Blane Schvaneveldt or Paul Jones will be standing in the winner’s circle after tonight’s 10th race.

Schvaneveldt, Los Alamitos’ winningest trainer, and Jones, the leader in the current standings, will send out four of the seven horses in the $12,850 allowance at 350 yards. The race is for 3-year-old fillies.

McKaizlees Kiss, who had a decisive win in her second Los Alamitos start on Oct. 12, and Easy Winning Deal will represent Schvaneveldt; Chrom Illusion, who won her last start on Sept. 29, and Marmeta are Jones’ entrants.

The other entrants are Casas Fame, who was third in her local debut Oct. 24 after beginning her career in Wyoming and Idaho, Quicks Trick, a longshot who has lost 13 of 14 in her career, and Cucus Bug, who hasn’t won in 2002 for trainer Donna McArthur.

The picks: 1. High Dispatch. 2. Cash Eleventh Wonder. 3. Stole. 4. Babe With Rhythm. 5. Rodania Arbi. 6. Lost Pirate. 7. Faster Than Cash. 8. Ano Lani. 9. Passat. 10. McKaizlees Kiss. 11. Biscotti.

Four! Use Cuantemplate, Humphreys Begone and High Dispatch in the first; Cash Eleventh Wonder, Meters Honor and Red Hot Tarasco in the third; single Stole in the third and Babe With Rhythm, Scott Valley and Alakolada in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: The Felix Payne-trained Petra Mbi should improve in his second race after a layoff in the fifth. Coffee Buster takes a big class drop in the eighth and makes his debut for Paul Jones.
