Allen Iverson didn’t let an ankle injury affect his shooting.

Iverson scored 37 points, including a go-ahead basket in the final minute after coming back from a brief exit, to lead the 76ers past the San Antonio Spurs, 99-94, Thursday night at Philadelphia.

“I was scared,” Iverson said. “I came down on it the wrong way and I knew an ankle isn’t supposed to move that way. But I was able to walk it off, get more tape on it and fortunately it didn’t bother me.”

Keith Van Horn had 21 points and nine rebounds for the 76ers, but it was Iverson who delivered down the stretch, scoring 13 of Philadelphia’s final 17 points.

Iverson left after hurting his left ankle with 8:08 remaining. He got his ankle taped, returned two minutes later and made a driving layup and a three-point basket to give the 76ers an 87-83 lead. Later in the game, he banked in a shot with 43 seconds left for a 95-93 lead, then iced the victory with two free throws.

Tim Duncan had 29 points for the Spurs.

Washington 105, Utah 102 -- Michael Jordan scored 19 points, including back-to-back layups that gave his team the lead for good late in the fourth quarter, and Jerry Stackhouse scored 25 points and went 14 for 14 from the free-throw line as the Wizards won at Washington, despite blowing a 21-point first-half lead.

The Jazz had a chance to tie on its final possession, but Charles Oakley, playing for the first time since a brief appearance in the season opener, twice knocked the ball out of DeShawn Stevenson’s hands at the three-point line and Stevenson never got off the shot.
