Grizzlies Lose Again

Kevin Garnett had 34 points and 22 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves denied the Grizzlies their first win with a 110-106 overtime victory at Minneapolis.

The Grizzlies, now 0-11 overall and 0-3 under Coach Hubie Brown, lost in overtime for the second time this season.

Anthony Peeler’s three-point basket with 3:05 to play in overtime gave the Timberwolves the lead for good, 104-102.

New Orleans 99, Philadelphia 98 -- Jamal Mashburn scored 37 points and David Wesley’s last-second rebound and basket as time expired led the Hornets at New Orleans.

Orlando 101, Seattle 84 -- NBA scoring leader Tracy McGrady had 41 points, his sixth straight game with at least 30, as the Magic won at Seattle.

Miami 97, Milwaukee 93 -- Eddie Jones scored 22 points and rookie Caron Butler had a season-high 20 at Miami to help the Heat win for only the second time this season.

Sacramento 111, Chicago 98 -- Bobby Jackson and Doug Christie scored 22 points apiece at Sacramento as the Kings easily remained perfect at home (6-0).

Houston 97 Cleveland 80 -- Cuttino Mobley scored 12 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter at Houston and the Rockets never trailed after the opening minutes. Steve Francis had 18 points for Houston.

Utah 99, Phoenix 76 -- Karl Malone had 23 points and eight rebounds at Salt Lake City as the Jazz won consecutive games for the first time this season.
