The actor goes undercover on the streets of L.A. Wednesday nights at 9 in the new Fox series “Fastlane.”

Family Man: Well, I spend all week, every hour on the set, so my weekends are gold. And I spend them with my family. Last weekend, we just jumped in the car, drove south, found a little hotel and checked in at 10 p.m. The next morning, we took my 5-year-old to Legoland. That was pretty cool. It’s perfect for kids from about 3 to 7 years old. It’s fun for adults too. I mean, you can see the Sydney Opera House, the New York skyline, even the animals are built out of Legos--I had Legos when I was a kid.

The Simple Things: Sometimes we’ll go to Ed Debevic’s for dinner. Now that’s fun--having the waiter yell at you and talk trash. Last week we went, and my daughter had chicken nuggets, we had barbecue Cajun sandwiches and listened to the ‘50s music. Then we went to the bookstore and spent an hour or two picking out books. The best thing about a weekend is being together. It’s about quality time, and the simplest things are the best.

Indie Films: I enjoy weekend nights and I’m usually so tired from work, I like to do something like going to see a movie at the Laemmle Sunset--they have cool, indie films.

Hollywood Vibes: When we do the industry thing, we like to go out to dinner at Firefly on Ventura Boulevard. It’s got a great Hollywood vibe, California cuisine, and it’s in Studio City, where we live. It looks like a living room in somebody’s home; there are curtains that you can draw around your table for privacy. It’s fun, the music is hip and it brings in a little bit of Hollywood.

Getaways: Next week, we’ll take our daughter to Sea World. We’ll just drive down to San Diego Friday night and stay some place close to the park and go in the morning. I’ll be tired from the workweek, but we like to do something every weekend. Like my mom always says, “You can sleep when you’re dead.”
